Uncle Tim brings his toys

Tim arrived with his dump truck and back hoe on Wednesday. Patrick took the rest of the week off to play with him.

The septic tank was dug and installed by the time I came to check on things after work on Wednesday. When I arrived at 5ish they were digging and installing the drain fields.

When I returned after work on Thursday they had passed all the inspections and connected the septic tank to the house and barn and he was burying the connecting pipes.  Big toys make for easier work!!!!!

I hung around for a while on Thursday evening and laid out the driveway because he is hoping to get gravel on Friday.

They planned to work tonight until Tim's usual quitting time which is dark 30. However, one of the hydraulics sprung a leak and he is unable to use the back hoe arm. So he moved a bunch of dirt with the bucket. The plan for Friday......see if they can get the hydraulic arm fixed, re-contour some of the area around the house.  He wants to make sure all the water coming down the front field and berm drains away from the house. He also wants to make sure all areas can be mowed with the Kubota. Why push mow and weed eat when we own a Kubota?  After all we aren't getting any younger. Since the driveway layout is just about done they plan to spend most of the day hauling gravel for it. If he can get the back hoe fixed he will come back on Monday to finish moving dirt.
