Slow as mud

I had high hopes for big progress this week but things went frustratingly slow as the roofer has taken all week to barely get half the roof done. This is holding everything else up as they can't do any insulation or drywall until things are truly weather tight. My best estimate is that it will take him another week to complete the entire roof. Ugh.

At least some grass is growing in the section Tim graded 10 days ago.

In the meantime, the guys have finished installing the Trex on the screened in porch. Boy, does that look gorgeous. The siding contractor will finally get to start the first of the week which will allow the rock mason to start the rock work. I can hardly wait.

The contractors also put the first coat of stain on the front door, it will need another coat and probably a darker stain to cover up the differences in the wood (mahogany). Lisa is keeping a close eye on our allowances for materials  and we think we are keeping it pretty darn close to the original price.  Which is pretty good since we upgraded the front door, lighting, the screened in porch etc. Thank God for Amazon and free shipping. It has allowed us to purchase things like door knobs and lighting fixtures for less than we would normally pay at Lowe's. Gotta love that internet.
