Back to the Barn

Lisa and I spent Saturday afternoon and part of Sunday afternoon finishing up the last of the siding on the barn. We used Hardiplank to finish the gable end over the shed roof so that it would match the other end. It turned out really nicely and actually has it's first coat of paint on it.

The picture shows the progress just before we broke out the paint.  It turned out really well and was relatively painless (other than knees). It ended up being quite a productive weekend with the morning filled with cleaning up the new house so the contractors can start on whatever's next without spending time cleaning up. We also worked in the raised beds, spreading the dirt from the lowest bed (always intended as a temporary bed) to the other beds and removing the last of the tomato plants. We have some lettuce and some carrots still in the ground, which should provide some fresh stuff until first frost.

I guess we'll have to put a new header picture up that captures the new changes.... once we get a Carolina Blue sky again!
