This is what greeted us when we arrived at 11:15 this morning to catch a glimpse of the roof going up. Little did we know that they would have all of the trusses up on the house portion of our project before lunch. These guys don't mess around!
One of our favorite parts, the screened in back porch. The next photo will give you an idea of one of the coolest features (thanks uncles Mike and Tim): the cathedral ceiling which will be done in wood planks. VERY COOL!!!!
Lisa and I are black and blue from pinching ourselves that this is really ours. Boy, are we going to have one heck of a house warming party this winter!!!
When we came back after work tonight, they had completed two of the walls for the garage. This really gives some perspective of the size of the house. By the way, the roof really will be peaked and not flat like it looks in the pictures. there is a smaller triangle that they put on the top of each truss "piggyback". They left it off so it was easier to transport over the road.
The next time you see pictures of the house the garage should be sheeted and the door openings visible. The rest of the roof will be on next week. We are livin' the dream.
