Confirmation

Sometimes in life you wonder if you took the right path, had the right career, did what you were supposed to do. This weekend, we got confirmation that, yes, we are doing what we are supposed to by becoming a speech path and dietitian and not drywall hangers and finishers. I figure it has taken us 40 hours to hang the drywall and insulation in one small bathroom. No rocket science here folks, we are just plodders when it comes to this type of work. It will probably take anther 40 hours to finish taping and mudding the joint (no pun intended).
Of course, there are other clues that we are not cut from the usual construction cloth. Take for example our lunch break.
I can't imagine many construction workers dine al fresco with flowers on the table.

Of course, we can't leave out some cool garden stuff. Yesterday, Lisa prepared 5 gallon bags of potatoes (think french fries without the frying) for the freezer and today, while collecting fresh tomatoes she came upon one of our favorite garden sightings.
This is a tomato horn worm which is known for causing havoc in the garden. However, if you found one in your garden that looked like this, have no fear. The white tic tac things you see on it are the larvae of parasitic wasps which lay their eggs inside the body of the tomato horn worm. While it may look gross, it's actually pretty cool natural pest control. As the larvae eat their way out of the horn worm , they paralyze it  and prevent it from doing more damage. Also, the wasps don't sting so they're great neighbors.

The guys will be back to work tomorrow and we'll post some pictures of their progress.  Right now its pretty hard to tell the difference from one 2x4 and another as they finish up the framing.
