View of the kitchen from the living room
The guys have been working on putting the top layer of 2x6s and 2x4s on top of the framing. This is put there to tie all of the walls together and to add strength and rigidity to the structure. They have also added a bunch of braces to help secure the structure while they sheet it with OSB and then put the rafters on. Pretty exciting stuff.
They finished framing in the fireplace ( to house a metal fire box and gas logs)
A forest of 2x4s looking toward the front on the house from the back spare bedroom.
We're ready for the next step of sheeting and roof. We will order our front door by the end of the week as well as the TREX for the screened in back porch. All the while I am plugging away at the drywall in the bathroom in the shop. Tons of corners to tape and mud, God help me. Come to our dedication in a couple of weeks and it will all make sense.
