Spring

Spring is still officially a couple of weeks away but it sure feels like it today. It sure made me itch to get into the ground to plant and create new gardens so that our home settles more into our environment. Healed from the red clay slash that surrounds us, a sure sign of spring for us today was the opportunity to open windows across the house to invite a cool breeze while Lisa canned a batch of bean soup. Many of the seeds Lisa planted have sprouted and seem to anticipate the early spring.  I keep thinking the traditional first safe day to plant in the garden in Ryan's birthday, May 3rd, that sure seems a long way away.

It's supposed to rain this weekend which is another spring-like activity but its getting in the way of our completing our chicken coop. We need to get it done before the end of the month as our chickens will be ready by then. We'll pay bills tonight and decide where to spend our garden money this month.  My want list is much longer than my need list and I need to remember, as Lisa always reminds me, we have our whole life in this house, we don't need to be in a rush.
