Mantle

Lisa's dad came and installed the mantle today. It looks amazing and is exactly what we had in mind for it. I think he captured the arts & crafts style with it perfectly. As you can see, the mantle is a combination of the clear pine used in all of the trim along with some cherry for the top of the mantle and for the inset pieces used on each side. He even matched the columns found in the living room. Needless to say, we are thrilled with the result. So here are a few pictures of the mantle as it is installed and the finished product. We will have to put a coat of poly on it in a couple of days once we're sure the stain is dry.

The finished product

It really finished everything off. Now we can focus our attention on the outside of our house as spring approaches.
