We really buckled down and made some serious progress on our chicken coop today. We got the metal roof installed, all of the wire mesh put up to protect the chickens while they are out and got the nesting box built. Lisa also painted the boards and generally got things spruced up. A couple of more days like today and we"ll be ready for chickens. Of course, we used as much recycled materials from the house as possible. Many of the studs and plywood pieces are from the dumpster and the nesting box is made of tongue and groove bead board left over from the screened in porch ceiling. We are painting it to match the house with left over paint as well.
