pause.....

Alright, if you can imagine these two photos stitched together, you'd get a pretty good picture of what our foundation looks like right now. The mason is taking his wife and in-laws on an annual vacation to Pigeon Forge but will be back on Monday. While I wish he was here working  all weekend, we're still on schedule. We can expect to put in beams and floor joist in by the end of next week or right after the 4th. In the mean time, our contractors will back fill the inside and smooth it out and have the plumber install the water line from the road down to a junction box above the barn.

Yesterday, we took the day off from our day jobs and spent the day working at the barn. We weeded the entire berm and finished up the tool shed we built under the shed roof and painted it. If it wasn't for the hinges, it really does disappear into the siding. We also attached the walls for the bathroom in the barn so that the plumber could rough in the rest of the plumbing. I didn't take a picture of either of these projects but will include a picture tomorrow.

While we've had all of our attention on the house, the garden continues to produce. Above is the 3rd gallon of blueberries we've picked so far from our bushes. We put this one in the freezer along with another quart. we need at least 7 gallons to get through the winter. I'm sure we'll need to go to a you-pick-it site to pick the balance but we should be able to get a major portion from our own bushes. Of course we've eaten fresh everyday and will continue 'til they quit producing. Lisa has also canned another batch of green beans and will can some more beets and some pickles.  The shelves are filling back up again.
