As our week got started, we HOPED the builders would get started by the end of the week and today we saw proof that they are really getting things rolling. As you can see from the picture, they have laid out the outline of the house so that the excavator can come in and dig for the footers. We can't tell you how much more real this feels than just a few stakes in the ground. Yea, I know, it's still sticks and string but its sticks and string with a PURPOSE.
The string I'm touching is the top of the block foundation so it will be a pretty deep crawl space. We would probably more accurate if we called it a slouch space because you won't have to crawl anywhere in it but it won't be the height of a finished basement. Now we'll be praying for sunny skies and little rain until the footers get poured.
And finally, this is the cabinet we built under the shed roof to house our outdoor tools. All we need to do now is paint it the same color as the shop and put all of the tools in it. Once it is painted you shouldn't be able to notice it as the lines should all match the siding behind it.
