garden stuff

The weekend has been busy with canning, gardening and finishing up a few projects at the shop (officially now the shop, no longer the barn). The contractors came and cleaned up the inside of the foundation in preparation for the mason to finish his stuff by mid to late week.

We're hopeful they might get the beams in by the end of the week and start with the floor system but that may be next week. In the meantime, we finished putting the tool shed together, harvested another gallon of blueberries (we're p to over 4 gallons from our patch), and harvested the balance of our onions and garlic.

Once they were harvested, we added a load of compost to the now empty bed, turned it all in and are planning what to plant in there next.

Of course, the ultimate sign of summer, the first tomato, a pink brandywine, harvested and eaten as tomato sandwiches.

Everything in the picture except for the mayo is home made/grown. Our friend Joe lent us his scaffolding again  which will help me run the last of the wiring in the shop and we picked up a corner sink and faucet so the plumber can rough it all in for us, hopefully this week.  Thats it for us, please keep your fingers crossed and pray for cool enough weather so the workman can get their stuff done and we can move forward.
