Counter tops, hardwood floors and closet systems

I think this was one of Lisa's favorite deliveries. Her beautiful new counter tops  were delivered and installed on Friday. This was a pretty impressive process to watch. What is equally impressive was to see these two average size men carry and install these very heavy granite slabs.

The granite color is called "ubatuba" and tends to be black with green and gold flecks and veins throughout. According to wikipedia, it is the commercial name of a Brazilian charnockite, although it often sold as a granite. It comes from the Ubatuba area of Brazil, where it forms part of the Paleoproterozoic Ribeira Belt. Whatever it is, it really captures the colors of the cabinets and wall colors beautifully.

The pictures don't really do them justice.

The hardwood floors are completely installed and look great and all of the closet systems have been installed as well except for some shelves getting a fresh coat of paint. Lisa's sewing center looks ready for action and will be completed once the carpet is installed next week.

Finally, a couple of pictures of our favorite grandson the one of Travis and Wyatt while they are playing their new Wii.
