This and that

Just some pictures of different things that have happened out at the new house over the past week. First, the house is completely wrapped and enclosed. They should get windows in soon and the stair treads have been delivered so they can get started on the stairs to the storage space over the garage. Shingles were also delivered yesterday and should be up on the roof as soon as the roofer gets free from another project. The plumber has been in and roughed in most of the plumbing and the heating and air guy has cut all of the openings for the vents and installed the air returns. The attic has had additional bracing added to it and the rest of the screened in porch has been framed and sheeted. Feels like  a lot got done this week.
The view from the front, all wrapped up and ready for siding.
Back side of the house with a stack of shingles on the ground.
Plumbing from the underside of the house.  I hope the electrician comes soon and works as fast.

Of course, Lisa has been busy working on things in the kitchen including fresh tomato sauce, salsa, spaghetti sauce and her latest.... bruschetta. This is made with tomatoes, garlic, white wine, wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, oregano and basil. She is trying to be creative with all the tomatoes that are producing. We will enjoy this bruschetta with some crusty bread and mozzarella cheese.  She even put some volunteer cheery tomatoes in the dehydrator; wow, what concentrated flavors that will be great on pizza. We like to refer to this as "fast food".

We have also enjoyed some of the fruits of our garden that we didn't plant. Cantaloupes have sprouted in a couple of our beds (I guess that is one advantage of our composter not always being too efficient) We had our first and have discovered another 5 or so that are in different stages of development. The hot summer and low rain have really done their part as they have been excellent. We support volunteering !!! :)
