Definition for power outage:

equipment failure resulting when the supply of power fails; 

A simple word and a simple phrase that captures much of our day.  The contractors showed up bright and early, aware that today as scheduled to be exceptionally hot. At around 8:15 this morning the  compressor quite working, the saws went silent and they experienced a power outage. They checked the plugs and circuits but to no avail. The electricity was out in the area and was expected to be out until 11:30. With that the roofers headed out and much of the work planned for the day came to a screeching halt.  Once the power was restored, the roofers were long gone, on to other jobs that had power and the ability to get something done, make some money, because nobody uses simple hand tools anymore, if its not powered by electricity or  a compressor they aren't using it. So we hope tomorrow is clear and cooler and that the electricity continues to flow through the wires to power our wondrous engines of progress. Until then, here are a few shots of what did get accomplished by the few workers who were able to stick around.

 

They started tying in the garage roof to the house roof.  They have to stick build this part since this is where the two roofs come together and where the stairs will be for the attic access.
