Miracles and Spring Landscaping

Spring here, like much of the country has definitely sprung. We have worked the last couple of weekends when it isn't raining trying to get a hold of the landscaping around the house.  Heck, I'd be happy with a full yard of grass. Not known for leaving well enough alone, Lisa and I did some serious landscaping to the front of our house.

On Saturday, we leveled out the side yard and planted some trees and bushes that give a little shape to things.  Today, I picked up a truck load of mulch and covered the whole area.  It looks so much nicer than a big pile of dirt.  The other sign of spring is our lazarus tree.If you recall, we had a beautiful lace leafed maple in front of our old house.  We asked everyone and his brother who works in landscaping in our area to help us move that tree and finally found two guys who moved it at the last minute. With our fingers crossed and  more than a few prayers we planted on the property with hopes that it would survive.

Today- Amazingly beautiful
we are also working at getting some grass to grow.  We really hit it hard this weekend and are now trying to water and encourage some growth- not that we need more grass to grow.

My friend Thomas came over yesterday and tilled up our new garden space with his tractor.  That will surely make gardening a much easier prospect this year. We have a long weekend ahead of us which will either kill us or get us even farther a head on our projects.  More photos to follow.

Finally, the ladies that work for me are all coming for lunch on Wednesday so we had a little extra motivation for the house to look a bit more put together.
