So feast your eyes on the Lisa's gorgeous kitchen cabinets. I think they turned out even prettier than we hoped. The hickory wood with a glaze on it really has a lot of character that the pictures may not reflect, we love them for sure. As you can see, all of the upper cabinets have been installed now and the lower cabinets will begin to be installed tomorrow.
These are the cabinets over the stove and Lisa's baking station. The high center cabinet will hide the vent over the stove. There is still crown molding to be added at the top and a decorative trim to be added to the bottom of all the cabinets and of course, knobs and handles. The electrician was here and measured for the under cabinet lighting which he will install tomorrow. The cabinet on the left without doors is an open self unit for displaying "pretties".
These cabinets include space for the fridge and a shelf for the microwave oven. The shelf without doors on the far end will have glass insert doors.
This is the desk area where we will have the home computer and a place for dealing with mail etc.; it will have an open shelf in the middle for cook books. So that's it for today, the plumber is supposed to come and seal the pipes for the geothermal heat pump tomorrow. This will let them do a pressure check on them so they can fill in the trenches.
The rock masons will be back tomorrow to finish out the rock out front (they found some of the rock elsewhere so there wasn't a 2 week wait). Unfortunately, we wont get to see any of this as we have the annual parade at work tomorrow which will take up all of the day light. We'll have to catch up with them on Friday!
