Upon Our Return

We arrived home too late last night to go out to see what had been accomplished while we were in San Diego. We arrived this morning with much anticipation and were greeted by installed garage doors, two masons working on the rock and tile laid in the kitchen and dining room. Backer board is installed in both bathrooms and an additional tile man will be on site helping to move things along. The master bath has lots of tile in it including around the bath tub and in the shower.

Kitchen and dining room tiles ready for grout.

The plumbers were in the back yard laying out the pipe for the geothermal system and expect to have it all connected so they can back fill in the next day or so if the weather holds out (rain is in the forecast).
This gives you a little idea of the scale of things and a view of the pipe in the ground. I believe there is about 3800 feet of pipe coiled in four trenches.  Its a closed system meaning that the water that is in all of those pipes travels through the pipes into the crawlspace and then into the system that converts it into heating or cooling.
Water going in and coming out of the crawl space.

One of the four trenches the pipe is coiled in. The length of each trench is 90 feet, the width is 3 feet with the depth 6 feet.

Pretty nice changes since we've been gone, don't you agree? Once the tile has been grouted, the kitchen cabinets will be next. It looks like the middle of January before we will be able to move in, we can hardly wait.
