After a couple of weeks of visits from Carrie and Wyatt followed by our annual departmental conference which was finally completed today, I feel like I can sit down  and bring you up to date on what has happened at 511 Causby Rd. Despite our absence from the process, the contractors have been hard at it. The drywall is completely finished including sanding, as of today.
 ready for primer.

The deck has a floor and most of a railing with the last section left off for the siding contractors who are using the deck as a support for their walk ways as they work on the back side of the house. All of the siding is up except for about 70% of the back of the house including the screened in porch. What a whirlwind of activity and effort.

You can see the chimney sticking up through the roof as well as the end of the house that faces the barn/shop.
The siding contractors are installing the soffit and facia as they go along, so even though it isn't painted yet, the house really has a finished look to it and will soon be truly weather tight.

It now really feels like the house could maybe, possibly, we-can-only-wish-hope-pray be done by Christmas after all. Oh yeah, Lisa got a call from the kitchen cabinet maker, they will be delivered the first week of November.
