All in a Morning's Work

If you will recall, a couple of weeks ago, we had a load of rock delivered so we could build a dry creek bed for diverting rain water through our back yard. After a week or so of pick and shovel work we had made some progress laying out the intended path but had stalled due to hot weather. Balmy temperatures this weekend seemed like the perfect time to put that rock where it belonged, or at least, get a start on it.

We started around 9:30 after a trip to the farmer's market, the feed store and the grocery store. The pictures show how much we got done between 9:30 and 12:30. This has gone much faster than we thought it would, thanks to our trusty Kubota.

 Approximately 50 feet of rock bed laid out.

 landscape fabric under the rocks should help to keep the weeds down.

 We'll plant some ornamentals randomly along the edge to give it a little bit of a 

natural feel.

 Once it's all laid, we'll rake out the dirt and plant some seed. 

Not too bad for a morning's work.
