Look Ma, no scaffolding!
With the break in the weather we experienced this weekend ( high around 80 and cloudy) we were able to finish the last coat of paint on the dormers and finally take down the scaffolding. We also got a coat of white paint on the shed roof fascia in preparation of getting some guttering installed. It's hard to believe but we're pretty much done with the outside of the barn which led us into some work inside as well.
No, the scaffolding didn't go away, it just moved inside so we cold build some suspended shelves to store the leftover wood off of the floor. Thats the shorter pieces of plywood above the scaffolding and a little wall art left over from a project at work.
On the other end of the barn, we built another set of suspended shelves where we could store the rest of the materials. Boy, does that open up the floor space once all of the stuff is put up. On Sunday I vacuumed and swept up the worst of the dirt and plan to power wash it in the next week or so so I can get a coat of epoxy paint on it. At that point we'll be able to find more permanent homes for much of what has been floating around in there.
On the gardening front, we've harvested a few crowder peas and have a new batch of rattlesnake beans in the ground. Lisa made some more salsa today and we'll enjoy some blackberry/ rhubarb dessert tonight.
