Baby it's Hot Outside....

With apologies to Dean Martin and Frank Loesser, (Dean sang the song "baby it's cold outside and Frank wrote the lyrics) man it's been hot outside here the past week or so and we have just not done anything on the barn. We are still harvesting some things from the garden and Lisa has canned a bunch of tomatoes and tomato-based products including soup, Italian spiced tomatoes and Mexican spiced tomatoes. Our Crowder peas should be pickable in the next week or so. Alas, the blueberries are finally done but we have been well pleased with our results. Final total is 2.5 gallons from 12 bushes. Not bad for a first years pickin's. We're currently trying to figure out how we can increase our gardening space and add in soaker hoses so that we can keep them well watered without losing so much through conventional means such as sprinklers. We"ll document that as we build some new raised beds.
