Finally, after several days of rain, the cement crew came and poured the concrete and finished the slab. We're finally getting some where.
Well after a year of waiting, the economic crash has put a hold on the State buying our current house for at least another year. We decided we couldn't wait to start building something so we started on the shop, or better known as the "barn". The City of Morganton has an ordinance that prevents land owners from building outbuildings until you have a home on the property. Through some careful work and a little diplomacy, the city decided it was ok to build a barn seeing as we had so much agricultural activity going on! Hey, we'll take it. Above is the form work for the slab and footers for the building. Its 24' by 32' and will have a bathroom (pipes sticking up in the front corner) some time in the future. We're finally on our way!
