Visitors from New Mexico

After a much anticipation, the Reynolds family  finally arrived at our home for an extended visit. We thoroughly enjoyed having little ones in the house as well as the opportunity to spend time with Travis and Carrie. Travis and I tried to do some deer hunting but to no avail. We did see some beautiful country but the deer were in hiding.

Wyatt loved cooking with his Meme, making loaves of bread, brownies and "helping" with several dinners. He is a delightful boy who is very smart and is really starting to talk up a storm.

Miss Bayleigh  is a real charmer. She is almost always happy and smiles constantly. She has the cutest way of creakling up her nose and is just a joy to have around.

Of course, the chickens were a hit and Wyatt, who is no stranger to chickens, demonstrated his own particular style that is true boy complete with camouflage  boots and shorts.

One of the highlights was planting two apple trees, one for each kid. Wyatt was right in the middle of things helping to dig and plant the trees. He was really invested in every aspect of the planting process and needed to visit the trees each day until they left.
We also visited a local apple orchard and picked several bags of apples  to bring home so Meme could turn them into apple pie.

Travis also demonstrated his pumpkin carving skills and created a pumpkin masterpiece for each kid. Bayleigh had a Mini  Mouse themed pumpkin and Wyatt had one carved with an Elmo.   We had them on the porch during the family get together we hosted last Saturday so that family could celebrate Dad''s birthday as well as come see the Reynolds without dragging them all over the state. A good time was had by all and was officially the largest party at our new house.  Lisa and Carrie figured there were 28 people in attendance.

All in all, it was a great visit, we hope they will be moving to the east coast sometime in the future so we can be a part of their lives on a more regular basis.
