The warm weather has really gotten things growing around here. Along side of the barn we planted some potatoes which you see here. This is after the second hilling and they are just starting to flower. Lisa is diligent in her potato bug patrol and no bug is safe with her on duty. At the bottom of the picture is a new day lilly bed we installed a week or so ago. It should be beautiful and keep us from mowing another hilly area.
These are our raised beds which are in full and furious bloom. In case you're wondering, the contraption on the opposite end of the raised beds that look like May poles, are Lisa's ingenious way of giving her green beens a place to climb within the limited space allowed in the raised beds.
She also has yellow and purple onions in the right bed and peppers and beets in the left bed with some carrots sprinkled in as well.
Finally, our blackberry's have taken off like crazy and should give us a few berries this year. Next year we expect a bumper crop. The tan things in front are old clay pipes a friend gave us after she dug them up to replace a drain system, no waste going on around here.
